FLOOR SCHEDULE UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 3, 2020
FLOOR UPDATE:
"On Tuesday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for Morning Hour debate and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m. Following One-Minute speeches, the House will recess to allow for a security sweep of the House Chamber prior to the President’s State of the Union address. The House will meet again at approximately 8:35 p.m. in a joint session with the Senate for the purposes of receiving an address from the President of the United States. Members are advised that no votes are expected in the House on Tuesday.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for Morning Hour debate and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business.
On Friday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business. Last votes of the week are expected no later than 3:00 p.m.
We will consider several bills under Suspension of the Rules. The complete list of suspension bills will be announced by the close of business tomorrow.
The House will also consider H.R. 2474, Protecting the Right to Organize Act of 2019. This bill restores fairness to the economy and gives more working Americans the opportunity to get ahead by strengthening the federal laws that protect workers’ rights to organize a union and bargain collectively.
In addition, the House will consider H.R. 5687, Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief and Puerto Rico Disaster Tax Relief Act, 2020. This bill provides support to Puerto Rico following a series of recent earthquakes. The legislation provides significant funding for educational needs, repairs to transportation infrastructure, and community development activities.
Lastly, additional legislative items are possible."
