FLOOR SCHEDULE UPDATE

January 2, 2021
The House will meet at 12:00 p.m. to convene the 117th Congress. After the Pledge of Allegiance, it is expected that there will be a Quorum Call, followed by the election of the Speaker, and the swearing-in of Members.

The House will have a Quorum Call establishing a quorum in the House of Representatives for the First Session of the 117th Congress, by groups. 

Election of the Speaker of the House. This election is held by manual roll call vote, with each Member called individually, in alphabetical order, by the clerk, by groups.

Swearing-in of Members. After the Speaker is elected, the Oath of Office is administered to Members and Delegates. Members will be sworn in by groups, beginning with First-term Members-elect.

**Members are advised that additional votes are possible today.
