"Do they understand the impact that this has on families, on people?"
Governor John Kasich (R-OH) has a message for President Trump and Congressional Republicans: stop sabotaging the ACA. Over the weekend, the Republican Governor of Ohio joined a chorus of Americans who are speaking out against Trump’s decision to stop vital cost-sharing reduction payments that help low-income Americans afford health care. From Meet the Press yesterday:

Chuck Todd:
“… Did what the Trump administration announce on Friday, do you consider it as some critics have, a purposeful attempt to sabotage Obamacare?”
Governor John Kasich:“What this decision [is] leading to are higher prices. Some people will not be able to afford health insurance. Or people will have to make very significant choices. And I'm talking about hardworking people, trying to work their way up and out of their situation. It's going to impose higher costs on their families.”
“…But what I don't understand, Chuck, is what are [Republicans] doing? Are they just passing these things and people are praising what the president did because of politics? I mean, do they understand the impact that this has on families, on people? Read the stories of what these people are saying.”
“They finally have health insurance, and then the next day they wake up, and now they're not so sure they can afford it, or whether they'll be able to have it. What is the purpose of this? I've got to say, Chuck, this whole issue is about people. It is not about politics, it is not about numbers. It's about people. And these congressmen, they're seemingly willing to do nothing.”
“… And who gets hurt? People. And it's just, it just, it’s outrageous. Think of, Chuck, if all of a sudden I told you, 'You and your family have no health insurance. Or it's priced so high that you can't afford it.' Can you imagine what your life would be like?”
