Complete Consideration of H.R. 351 – LNG Permitting Certainty and Transparency Act (Rep. Johnson (OH) – Energy and Commerce) (One Hour of Debate). This bill seeks to codify the Department of Energy’s (DOE) existing approval process for applications to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States, which currently allows DOE to evaluate the impacts of LNG exports on domestic natural gas prices for consumers and manufacturers through a public interest review. H.R. 351 requires a final public interest determination on pending applications 30 days after the completion of environmental reviews required by the National Environmental Policy Act.

The Rule, which was adopted yesterday, provides for a closed Rule and one hour of debate.
