The Daily Quote

“Even as conservatives pressed their case for a long-term stopgap that would leave the government operating on auto-pilot at least until March, they conceded they lack the votes to get such a measure passed… And the House may have little choice if the Senate passes its short-term stopgap as early as this week and then leaves town… ‘If the House fails to act, we will get jammed by the Senate,’ said [Rep.] Charlie Dent, R-Pa., a House appropriator. ‘That's the reality. This short-term CR into December is the only way to proceed.’”
