Another Week Of Progress

Around 2:00 AM this morning the Senate Finance Committee finished going through the amendments offered in the markup.  Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) has postponed the Committee vote until next week, to wait for a score of costs and savings being released by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO).  The House also continued making progress on putting together a bill for the Floor, and will continue Caucus and other Member-level meetings next week.

Report of the Day

A new report from the Center for Studying Health System Change highlights some information and options on Affordable Health Coverage for Near-Elderly Americans.  About 4 million or 12 percent of near-elderly adults, those age 55-64, lacked health insurance in 2007.
